Bernadette
"Bernie" Dillon is
a lifelong resident of Portland and was first elected as Town Clerk in
1977. She and her husband Jack have three children.
Bernie has been a member of the Democratic
Town Committee and has served as Chairwoman, Vice-Chairwoman and Secretary.
She has also served on the Democratic State Central Committee and
is a member of the Portland Historical Society, PRIDE, and Friends
of the Portland Library. Bernie is also active at St. Mary's Church,
being a Eucharistic Minister, Post President of the Parish Council and
past President of St. Mary's Guild. In 1995, Bernie was named Town
Clerk of the Year by the Connecticut Town Clerk's Association.
